It’s been a while since my last Eat Atlanta post, but over my spring break I got to spend a little time exploring places in Atlanta I’ve been wanting to check out, and Jeni’s was top of my list after hearing several stellar reviews (and also because everything in the Westside Provisions district is amazing).

Jeni’s had an amazing selection of flavors, including really interesting flavors like Wildberry Lavender (my choice), Goat Cheese and Red Cherries, Cedarwood Vanilla, Riesling Poached Pear, Roasted Strawberry, Whiskey and Pecans, and many others… It was hard to pick one, but luckily there were unlimited samples so I got to taste a bunch before I decided.

Besides having a well-crafted menu of flavors, the inside of the store is really sleek. It’s subway tiles, bentwood chairs, and string lights. What would be better? Their seasonal flavors were also displayed in a grid on the wall in a layout that reminded me of Cereal Magazine. They were quite busy for a weekday afternoon, so it really goes to show how much it matters to pay attention to aesthetics.

I was really surprised to find out that Jeni’s is actually a chain, with their original location originating in Columbus, Ohio. The chef, Jeni Britton Bauer has also published a cookbook dubbed “the ice-cream bible” and seems to have created a perfect ice cream shop. I expect to be back once it starts getting hot around here!
