When furniture maker Modernica reached out about their line of mid-century modern furniture and accessories, produced in their four-acre campus in Los Angeles, I knew their iconic fiberglass chairs, modern ceramics, and streamlined accessories would all make beautiful, thoughtful gifts for the design lover on your gift list. I got to try their bentwood tray table and phone stand, perfect accessories for my dorm room. The tray table is great for studying in my bed, while the phone stand holds my phone perfectly on my nightstand or desk. Look out for the giveaway below to win your own bentwood tray table! Right before I left Atlanta to jet off for college, I had the pleasure of meeting up with Paige Minear of The Pink Clutch, a fellow Atlanta blogger. She’s a fantastic example of Southern hospitality and is one of the best when it comes to Atlanta design bloggers, plus I loved learning a bit about her and the background of her colorful blog career. In case you missed it, I had the honor of participating in this past spring’s One Room Challenge with her, which she totally hit out of the ballpark with her energetic living room reveal. Make sure to check out Paige’s blog and my feature on her site by clicking below.
Over the past year, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Mandy of Waiting on Martha, a blogger, designer, shop owner and fellow Atlantan. She’s an incredibly kind and creative #BossLady who’s passionate about the design community here in Atlanta. I collaborated with Mandy for my One Room Challenge to find the styling accessories and finishing touches to polish off my room, and I’m excited to share some of my favorite pieces from her shop on the blog today, plus a $200 giveaway to shop the decor, entertaining, and accessories for yourself!
Steve McKenzie’s was a recent find for me, and I can’t believe I only discovered this year! Tucked into West Midtown, it’s truly one of the best home stores in Atlanta, but the best part of the discovering this store was getting to know the duo behind the shop. Steve and Jill McKenzie are avid design lovers and vibrant members of Atlanta’s design community, often hosting events in the store for artists and designers in the area or passing through. Of the pieces in the store, they say “We don’t sell anything we wouldn’t use in our own home!” Steve is a painter, and his own line of fabrics can be found on upholstery and pillows throughout the vignettes in their store. Besides running the shop, the duo also works on residential design projects, translating their design style to clients’ homes (see their latest feature in Atlanta Magazine’s next issue of HOME)! Take a tour of the store below, and shop their online selection on their website (like Eddie Ross’s new book shown below). Read More
Accent lighting can be like jewelry in a room, especially when brass and marble are the materials in use. This task lamp I used in the corner vignette of my One Room Challenge is a beautiful piece with a square marble base and a round brass shade. The lamp brings a little bit of modernism to this area of the room, and I’m excited to give you a chance to win one of your own! There are so many places to add a table lamp, especially when you think of it as a (functional) decorative object. This lamp would be perfect for a desk, side table, dresser, buffet, or even as an accent in a small entryway. Find out how to enter to win one of your own after the jump, and good luck! Read More
